Morals on the Book of Job

The Moralia, in thirty-five books

By St. Gregory the Great

73 h 22 min · Age of the Councils · Latin West

  • Patience
  • Suffering

Begun at Constantinople as conferences for the monks who had come with him, and finished after he was made bishop of Rome. Gregory reads Job three times over, historically, allegorically and morally, and the last of those readings is the one the whole Latin Middle Ages learned its moral theology from.
